Apple is preparing to procure chips from the factory, which is under construction in Arizona.
Apple rolled up its sleeves to procure chips from a factory under construction in Arizona, USA, for use in its devices.
The world’s largest chip maker, TSMC, announced last year that it would set up a $12 billion facility to build a chip factory in Arizona. Presumably, the chips that Apple will supply from the USA will be produced in this factory.
Apple also has plans for Europe
On the other hand, Apple CEO Tim Cook said at a meeting with local engineering and retail employees in Germany that the company could increase its supply of chips from factories in Europe.
Due to rising costs, Apple wants to save money by buying chips from its home country. The US-based company is also having trouble producing iPhones due to the coronavirus shutdowns in China.
