Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, continues to believe in the metaverse despite his failures.
Meta’s love of the metaverse has been pretty muddled ever since it changed its name from Facebook to Meta. Meta attracted reactions after the recent metaverse investments and layoffs, began to be described as “unsuccessful” in the metaverse. But Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, continues to believe in the metaverse.
Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is still hopeful of the company’s Metaverse plans, despite the billions of dollars he’s sucked out of the company. So much so that when it comes to the metaverse, Mark says “someone has to build it.” Speaking at the DealBook Summit in New York on November 30, Zuckerberg was asked whether the tech giants’ Metaverse game was still viable given the cost and doubts about the platform. Zuckerberg noted:
“I think in a 10-year time horizon, everything looks very different from where we are in the next few years. “I’m still totally optimistic about everything we’ve been optimistic about.”
However, Zuckerberg, who is also aware of the failures, said that the reason he wanted to see things through to the end in the long term was to strengthen the doubts about his ambitions.
